As commuters bustle along the Bromley Road few know what a gem is tucked away just behind the roadside trees.
The golf course may not be long but its challenging with tricky greens and some enchanting holes. I must have played it hundreds of times and its always subtly different, a never ending mix of joy and frustration. My spirit soars when birdies arrive but there are plenty of hazards waiting to trap any lapse in concentration.
Over the last 13 years I have enjoyed some great social functions, had excellent meals surrounded by history in the stunning clubhouse, literally a Napoleonic palace or relaxed in the evening sun with a glass of sauvignon on the terrace gazing over London.
What makes Chislehurst for me are the people, it’s one of the friendliest and inclusive clubs that I have ever been to. It’s a great golf experience and just makes me want to come back for more.
The whole day was near perfect. From the MC, staff in the bar/dining room, food, the dining room decoration. The building is beautiful and spotlessly clean. And of course the bride and groom. Plenty of parking and nothing seemed like a big deal to sort out. Its all the little things that together make a great day, a wonderful day. Great place. Would recommend.
I was at the course to play a match representing Sidcup Golf Club. The course was in excellent condition apart from maybe too many stones in some of the bunkers. The members were very friendly and welcoming as they always have been when I have visited. The meal afterwards was very nice.
